Apprentice Lift Engineer Job Details
We have a vacancy for an apprentice lift engineer based ideally in or around the Peterborough area. Experience in the lift industry isn’t necessary but you must have a passion for customers service.
The Role
You will initially shadow our senior lift engineers with installations, servicing and repairs of stairlifts, through floor lifts and associated equipment within homes and businesses. Once your apprenticeship is completed you will be expected to install lifts and support larger installations.
A DBS check will be performed on the successful candidate and this is also essential for this role due to the nature of the clients involved with our business.
We are looking for individuals who have a service or engineering background from such as for example vehicle mechanics or electricians.
What matters to us is that you have the right attitude to customer service combined with a high level of workmanship. You must also have a smart appearance, be self-motivated and work with a minimum of supervision.
We install and service Stairlifts and Home Lifts

Apprentice Lift Engineer Job – Responsibilities
- Installing, servicing, and repairing stairlifts, home lifts, platform lifts, hoists and stair climbers.
- Fitting other equipment that customers may need such as grab rails.
- Ability to our service area across the Midlands and East Anglia.
- Assisting our other engineers when jobs require 2 or more engineers.
- Attend mandatory brand training.
The Candidate
You are of smart appearance, self-motivated, enthusiastic and have the ability to demonstrate a high standard of workmanship. Be able to work methodically with supervision and ask for and, accept assistance when required.
Desirable requirements/qualifications:
- NVQ level 2 in Stairlift Maintenance. If you don’t have this we can support you through a lift training course.
- Mechanical or Electrical qualification
