Anglian Lifts recently completed another PVE 30 vacuum elevator installation in North London, this time within a commercial premises where access was required across three floors.
The lift was installed neatly into an existing stairway area, providing a compact and modern vertical access solution while making excellent use of the available space.
This project is a good example of how a PVE 30 vacuum elevator can be used in a commercial environment where a conventional lift shaft may not be practical, or where the building layout requires a more specialist approach.
A Three-Stop PVE 30 Vacuum Elevator Installed Within the Stairway
One of the key features of this installation was the positioning of the lift within the stairway area.
Rather than requiring a large separate lift shaft, the PVE 30 vacuum elevator was installed into the available stairwell space, allowing the building to benefit from improved vertical access without taking up unnecessary floor area elsewhere in the premises.
The finished installation sits naturally within the building, with the clear cylindrical lift structure complementing the darker interior finishes, stair balustrades and lighting.
The result is a clean, professional installation that looks well suited to the commercial setting.
Neatly Positioned Turbines and Controls
As part of the installation, the turbines and electronic components were positioned above the concrete ceiling in a dedicated service area, alongside existing building services such as air conditioning and water equipment.
This helped keep the main stairway area clean and uncluttered, while still allowing suitable access to the equipment for future servicing and maintenance.
Careful planning is essential on this type of project. The structure of the building, ceiling construction, service access, floor levels and lift positioning all need to be considered before installation begins.
Why the PVE 30 Vacuum Elevator Was a Good Fit
The PVE 30 is a compact pneumatic vacuum elevator designed to provide vertical access where space is limited.
Because it does not require a traditional lift shaft, pit or machine room, it can be a strong option for both domestic and commercial buildings where a more conventional lift may be difficult to accommodate.
For this North London commercial premises, the PVE 30 vacuum elevator provided:
- Three-stop access across multiple levels
- A compact footprint within the stairway area
- A modern visual appearance
- Reduced building disruption compared with many traditional lift options
- A practical solution for a building with limited available space
- Neatly located equipment within the service area above the ceiling
Commercial Lift Installation Requires Proper Planning
Commercial premises can present different challenges to domestic projects. Access, working areas, building services, safety considerations and the needs of staff, visitors or building users all have to be taken into account.
At Anglian Lifts, we approach these projects carefully from the outset. The aim is not simply to install a lift, but to make sure the solution works properly for the building and the people who will use it.
This includes looking at the available space, understanding the structure, planning how the lift will be installed, and ensuring that future servicing access has been considered.
Installed by Anglian Lifts Engineers
The installation was carried out by the Anglian Lifts engineering team, who assembled, aligned, installed and commissioned the lift on site.
A three-stop vacuum elevator requires accuracy at every stage. Floor levels must be carefully checked, landing positions need to be correct, and the lift cylinder must be assembled and aligned properly to ensure safe and reliable operation.
This is where experience matters.
Anglian Lifts regularly works with home lifts, stairlifts, wheelchair platform lifts and vacuum elevators, giving our team the practical knowledge needed to deliver specialist installations properly.
Another PVE Project Completed in London
This North London commercial installation is another example of Anglian Lifts delivering a specialist access solution in a real-world building environment.
The finished result is compact, modern and practical, with the lift positioned neatly within the stairway and the working equipment located discreetly above the concrete ceiling in the building’s service area.
Whether the project is domestic or commercial, our approach remains the same: provide honest advice, install the equipment correctly, and support the customer after completion.
