Sometimes you just want to know what that flashing green code means on the side of your stairlift. It might not even an error. It could just mean flag something you can easily sort out yourself. In some cases there’s no need for an engineers home visit.
In this article we explain the stairlift error codes shown by the Minivator / Handicare series of straight stairlifts.
You may have mis-placed the manual, but what do those pesky codes mean on your stairlift?
H, 6, 11, it flashes away to its hearts content, probably not a requirement for a rocket scientist, but possibly a stairlift engineer, this is dependant on what the code means.
| CODE | MEANING | POSSIBLE SOLUTION |
|---|---|---|
| – | Lift ready to use / charging | Normal |
| 0 | Final limit activated | Check key is on, else call engineer |
| 1 | Requires charge | Move lift to a charge point |
| 2 | Off charge | Move lift to a charge point |
| 3 | Top or bottom end limits reached dependant on lift handing | Normal |
| 4 | Top or bottom pressure edge activated dependant on lift handing | Clear obstruction |
| 5 | Top or bottom end limits reached dependant on lift handing | Normal |
| 6 | Top or bottom pressure edge activated dependant on lift handing | Clear obstruction |
| 7 | Low voltage | Charge or replace batteries |
| 8 | Up or down toggle switch call – dependant on handing | Normal |
| 9 | Up or down toggle switch call – dependant on handing | Normal |
| A | Hinge is open | Normal |
| b | Control switch active at power on | Possible short circuit |
| C | IR Address fail / DIP does not match | Call Engineer |
| d | Relay not open | Call Engineer |
| E | Relay not closed | Call Engineer |
| F | brake semi-conductor has failed | Call engineer |
| g | Brake not connected | Call engineer |
| H | relay not open (pre-delay) | Call Engineer |
| J | Hinge interlock switch error | Call Engineer |
| L | Current limit exceeded | Check for overload / obstructions |
| .n | Half speed mode | If persistent Call Engineer |
| o | Default Eeprom | Call Engineer |
| P | Power swivel no response | Call Engineer |
| r | No charge current | Check power supply / Call Engineer |
| U | No float indication / check power supply | Call Engineer |
| y | Main board error | Call Engineer |
| 11 | Over-current | Call Engineer |
| .8. | Lift is in sleep mode | Activate control to wake |
| ‘blank’ | Check lift is switched on | If no power, Call Engineer |
